An Elementary Proof of the Routh-Hurwitz Stability Criterion

Abstract: This paper presents an elementary proof of the well-known Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion. The novelty of the proof is that it requires only elementary geometric considerations in the complex plane. This feature makes is useful for use in undergraduate control system courses.
